Frugal Foodies In San Jose
Frugal Foodies, the weekly get together of 8-12 people interested in cooking organic, vegetarian meals on a budget is now meeting in downtown San Jose. Moses Ceaser founded Frugal Foodies three years ago in Berkeley after sharing the experience of cooking meals together while volunteering for a Meals on Wheels program. After visiting the Berkeley location and wanting to create a better sense of community in their downtown San Jose neighborhood, three roommates decided to recreate it. Each month a calendar of themes is prepared. You choose the night you want to participate, reserve a spot, if it hasn’t already filled up, and pay eight dollars in advance so that the organizers can purchase the necessary ingredients. In addition to being a great place to meet like minded people and to learn new vegetarian recipes, it is a great place to swap gardening and composting tips.
